We have looked at our cleaning products and our beauty products but probably one of the important products to consider when detoxing your home environment is your baby products! We have learnt a few months back that children develop their immune systems and central nervous system over time, so their ability to detox is not as competent as adults. It is therefore so imperative we limit their exposure to harmful chemicals.

Parabens, Talc, Sulphates, Propylene Glycol, DEA,  are just some of the known toxic and often proven,  carcinogenic ingredients commonly used in baby bath, skincare, haircare, baby wipes and nappy change creams.
Parabens are a synthetic preservative found in cosmetic and skin care products. Parabens have properties similar to estrogen and are linked to breast cancer, to severe allergies and disruption of the endocrine system functioning.
Talc also known as hydrous magnesium silicate, is a toxic ingredient similar to asbestos. According to the American Cancer Society, Asbestos-containing talc particles have been known to cause tumors in human ovaries and lungs.
Propylene Glycol, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, can lead to skin irritation, inflammation, rashes, and breathing problems.
Flame-retardants are used in the foam found in products like cribs, high chairs, strollers and nursing pillows. Flame retardants use polybrominated diphenyl ethers, or PBDEs which Studies have linked to learning and memory problems, lowered sperm counts, poor thyroid functioning and neurological disorders.
